Good News.....

We are praising the Lord for His providing a temporary job for Keith this summer.  About 2 or 3 weeks ago, Keith received a letter from Michigan Works asking him if he would be available this summer to teach another academy in Battle Creek.  Come to find out, this academy will be only 3 weeks of 4 days per week plus 2 days in the final week.  He is excited to get this opportunity once again.  Plus, they have increased his pay, so he'll get paid close to what he had before for almost half the time.

We are so grateful to the Lord for how He has provided in so many ways for us through this journey.  We have had some costly medical bills as well as the furnace we had to purchase.  God has provided so that we are able to pay all those off.

To God be the glory great things He has done!

It's been a crazy month....

Dad all ready to leave Spectrum

Dad and Marsha

Dad and Mom
April 24
Four weeks ago, Dad had been a patient in Spectrum Butterworth for twelve days, still without a diagnosis.  They were sending him to Tendercare in Ludington for his rehabilitation.  His hemoglobin had been so low, they had given him two blood transfusions while he was there.  At this time, we found out he has myeliofibrosis, a blood disease, in which the white cell count is extremely high; so high in fact, the red cells are difficult to reproduce.

After Dad was moved to Tendercare, he took a few days to adjust to his new surroundings.  After being there for a couple days, his primary care doctor called and said they got a diagnosis of Tuberculosis.  Come to find out, Dad apparently had that when he was a kid.  The doctor thinks it just was dormant all these years.  The TB is located in his lymph nodes rather than his lungs; so he's not contagious.

While in the hospital, he had lost a lot of weight.  Thankfully, he's gaining some back now.  With all the medicine he has to be on for his TB, they were concerned about him being able to tolerate it all.  He's on several antibiotics at one time.  He's being monitored closely and it's going good so far.

We are thankful my sister has been staying with Mom for the last 4 and half weeks.  What a blessing she's been to us all.  She's faithfully taken Mom over to visit Dad at least twice a day, and gone to doctor appointments, etc.  as well as just being there for Mom and doing work around the house.  Thanks so much Sister!

Also, my brother has come every weekend to visit Mom and Dad.  He will be instrumental in helping to construct a handicap ramp for Mom and Dad's house.  He's also made sure her vehicles are in good running condition, too.  You are also so appreciated, Bro!

Dad has been doing good at his physical therapy and occupational therapy and is slowly regaining his strength back.  He needs to continue to gain strength back so he'll be able to go home.

We thank you so very much for your continued prayers for our family.

Mother's Day

We are so thankful for our wonderful Mom.
What a godly example of commitment.  You are such a giving, loving and one who puts others before yourself.  We are SO blessed.  Thanks Mom for teaching us all these attributes.  We love you so very much.  May God continue to bless your life.
